January 6th, 2006

Well, after a great time in Atlanta with Rob's family and my sister we found ourselves on board the ship at noon on Thursday. This is our first time with Holland America. Absolutely no complaints at all! We were met at the airport, and assisted with our luggage to a limo and whisked off to the pier for a brief embarkation procedure and presto - in our suite.

The suite is just fine thank you. It feels like home already, it better, this is it for over three months. Table mates are interesting people. I already have a job of helping somebody with using a Sony Video Camera today. We bumped into a couple that we got along very well with two years ago on Adonia. From California.

The ship is relatively small, 38,000 tons, and 790 passengers. It seems to be a small scale model of Oriana and Adonia. The serving staff is mainly Indonesian, Captain is Norwegian, Dutch officers and American Hotel Staff.

Today I am going to check out Tai Chi, also an interesting lecturer on board. Fellette is off to Aerobics and check out Crafts. The British ships usually have excellent crafts people aboard. We'll see.

Weather is clear and calm. Presently off North coast of Cuba, heading forBarbados, Monday 7 AM arrival.

Alright! You're back in action. So, do you have internet access in your room?

Sounds like you are off to a great start ... the ship looks great! Having a dialog via the "blog" is really good. Thanks Doug.
