Spoiled Rotten...

That is what parents do to some children. That is what Holland America is doing to us. Every so often when we come back to our cabin to retire for the night there is some neat surprise waiting for us. This is on top of the nightly chocolate, [on formal nights there is a special chocolate on our bed!]

For example, one night it was slippers, then two carry ashore bags, next a leather card holder for I.D. cards etc., then in Rio a Delf tile with the ships route on it from North America, then two very attractive warm scarfs. Tonight the steward bought in two insulated winter jackets that would be in fashion at Whistler!

Our room steward also likes to surprise us and show off his talents as a ''towel folder" Right now I am looking at a very large Tortoise made out of a large bath towel. [See photo], my handling of it makes it look more like a swan. Before that it was an elephant requiring two towels!

As we know from our own childhood and our child-rearing days, in an effort to be good to our children we can spoil them. They will begin to expect these surprises or treats. As adults of course we won't do that, will we! There is however, that tinge of anticipation as we open our cabin door. It is neat being a kid again!

well, the folded towels are cool -- the slippers and scarves and Delf tiles are a nice touch -- the jackets - pretty impressive -- but what I REALLY what to know is -- just how wonderful WERE the 'SPECIAL' chocolates? - I want details !! I look forward to your writings everyday.
