The Adventure Continues...

Day three of the six day crossing. Nothing to write about, except a little buzz on the ship. At 10.40 this morning, [the 15th] our Captain came on the intercom to make an announcement.

Apparently there is a crew member that needs medical attention, on land. At the time of the announcement we were not yet half way across the Atlantic. The decision has been made to alter course for Bermuda, north of our original course, but close to the USA. He stated that we may dock and transfer him or a ship may come out from Bermuda and transfer him to that ship. I suppose the thinking is that there may be a helicopter on the ship from Bermuda.

The scuttlebutt is that the man has an appendicitis and there are no operating facilities on the ship.

The captain also indicated that regardless, at this time he does not expect a late arrival in Fort Lauderdale on Thursday morning. The ships speed was increased to speed up the transfer.

Keep the man in your prayers.
