Is there no end to this????

Day 104 1/2 of a 105 day cruise. Packing, packing, packing. Obsession with flight times and arrival times, farewells and last minute details. Around 5:00 this afternoon, time to get together for one last time and reminisce and finish off any good or even not-so-good wine that seems to accumulated in your cabin. Ten of us in a cabin, the sky is blue, as the ocean, and the sun is shining and the balcony door is open. Does it get much better?

Never mind the wine, the friendships, shared experiences, memories, good times and better times all flood out tonight. Hugs with people you never knew on January 4th, yet now you wish you met them 40 years ago. Somebody said tonight, "Why is it you meet so many nice people on the last third of the cruise?"

At the dinner table tonight, the topic was, "What you are looking forward to at home?"

One comment was, "I would like to stay on board" We all have mixed feelings about tomorrow, disembarkation day. Back to our own world.

Sounds common and mundane does it? After three and one half months of luxury and pampering, this is what we earnestly are looking forward to. Ordinary people go to extraordinary places, as you can see. It has been a great run, and with a bit of time and the good Lord willing, it may happen again, but we don't take it for granted. What a wonderful world!

[My cell phone is charged up and ready for action at 4.00 AM Vancouver time, Thursday morning.]

The attached photo was taken this afternoon. It is some of the Tai Chi class that could make it for a photo and farewell to Robert and Bronwyn, our wonderful Aussie instructors, [foreground]. Not a bad group for a bunch of old fogies, don't you think?
