It's a Wonderful Life!...

April 16th, day four of the seven day crossing. [Still heading for Bermuda with a sick crew member who needs an operating Room.]

After an early morning mist and cloud the weather shone on us again. By 8 am it was like in the Suez again.

Blue skies and calm seas, the bywords of this voyage. At breakfast we had coloured boiled eggs, just like kids again.

The front desk staff were eager to wish you a Happy Easter and please, take an Egg.

This photo is proof that you can't go anywhere on the ship without bumping into a rabbit.

There was the usual activities during the day, even though some of us would like a slowdown in pace. Fellette gathered her crafts for the past 1/4 year [It sounds longer than three months]

and put them in the show of wares with the craft people. Doug did his Tai Chi, [after the 6.30 am Easter Sunrise Service]. Fellette did both Services that were fully attended. After Tai Chi for Dummies at 1.30, Doug and Gail got together and had a computer Adobe Feast, two hours of mutual learning. We both left a little frustrated.

At the dinner table tonight there was a great discussion. We have had a few Round Table Discussions the last few days..... the first was "Our Favourite Ports", next was "Ports we would be Happy Not to Visit again." [Remember we have visited about 36 Ports.] The Easter Rabbit visited us just to remind us that it was Easter.

Tonight's Dinner Table topic was: "What I will Miss When We Leave The Ship"

We each had to come up with about five things we would miss. [The only exclusion was that we could not include any people or friends, because it goes without saying that people on a cruise play a major role in it]. After a few were read, I thought that this would be of interest to some people who may read the blog. [and likely completely incomprehensible to some people, but many people will relate, I am sure].

In no particular order and by no means complete, here are some things that we genuinely will miss...

Dessert every day.

Entertainment every night.

Having somebody else make the bed.

Going to Trivia every day.

Our room steward, Dui. [pronounced Dewey]

Raisin buns in the morning.

Chilled fruit soups.

Being completely ignorant of World Happenings. [CNN]

The ample supply of fresh fruits in the morning.

The early AM knock on the door with coffee... "Room Service"

The view from the cabin....ocean and blue skies.

The shower, [shave], and music while getting dressed for dinner.

The view at 2.00 AM from the balcony, often, a moon and the sound of the surf.

Somebody else doing the cooking.

The Pillow Gifts on your bed at night.

Going to movies every day/night if you want to.

Being appreciative of what we are experiencing.

The list is really endless.

To some, or most, the above may be meaningless, but to us it is expresses our very real feelings at this time. We are all reasonably well travelled and know that this make-believe world we have been living in for the past three months will come to an abrupt end in about 96 hours. So be it. It has been a great ride, and it is not over till it's over!

Fellette , that's such a nice picture of you with your crafts -- the dyed eggs are beautiful - do you think they used natural dyes?? -- onion skins and the like?? They look so organic - beautful colours!! Looking forward to seeing you both soon.
